I know, I've been gone for several days. However, things are really busy at work and we are trying to get ready for a short trip to CA. Since everything I have had to talk about (with F.P.) has been food related, we've been focusing on Two Happy Bellies. I'll be back soon to continue {Not} Living Vicariously. I promise!

Wild tomato plant

We were out geocaching the other day by one of the malls in the area. Someone had hidden a cache outside the parking lot by a retaining wall. As we maneuvered our way through the vegetation, F.P. happened to stumble on a wild tomato vine with two very cute little green tomatoes on it. I’ve seen wild fruit grow, usually b/c someone threw away the leftovers. I’d never seen a stray tomato vine. I wonder how they would taste? I hope the squirrels enjoy every bite . . . since I won't get to.

Stealing of the bed(s)

Lindy has this amazing bean bag dog bed that she loves to dig into and create a divot for her body to recline in. She also has a foam cushion on top of a cedar chest in which she has dug a canine sized divot as well for her to rest in while watching birds/squirrels/rabbits out the window. We have caught Stoli enjoying both of them on occasion however she has definitely tried to take over the dog bed for good. We have found a cat sized divot in it most afternoons we come home from work. When we get up in the mornings, there she is having enjoyed a good snooze all night long. And she has even coughed up a hair ball or two on it after I washed it, I think in an effort to make it smell so much like her that Lindy will stay away.

While Lindy did curl up in it the other day after being told she needed to lay down while we put on our shoes for her walk, it is rare to see her in it these days. I do wonder if we will ever see the two of them curled up together? People say it does happen. I’m just not holding my breath.

Massage Prescription

I have been getting a massage every 4 – 5 weeks this year. It has really helped maintain the stress level I put myself under and kept my pinched nerve from acting up. I tried a few different people at Massage Envy where I go and have settled on my favorite masseuse Jessica. She is insane, in a good way. Not only does she do a great job of working with my body’s quirks, she also diagnoses problems before I verbalize them. She definitely knows her stuff. She also likes to write me prescriptions for in between visits. Most of these are normal things like stretch your gluts, loosen your neck muscles, things we know we should do and don’t. However this last time she added a new one on me. We’d just come back from a road trip to KY and I was definitely tight. She decided that I needed to work on preventing sciatica and prescribed two pet sized tennis balls to be sat on while at work. Hunh??? However I decided to trust her and I bought my tennis balls. I finally got around to sitting on them at work. Interesting. First, finding a position for them to be in and I to be on top of them and yet still be able to sit with my back against the chair, no slouching now, took some time. Then I had to adjust the height of the chair so that my knees didn’t bang the desk yet my arms were still in a healthy position for the keyboard took some more time. I can’t cross my legs now. I always sit with either legs crossed or with one ankle curled up underneath. Right now I’m only lasting about 30 minutes. I wonder how long I’ll be able to build up to with this.
