This is a beautiful event . . . after (successfully) eating some rice cereal last night, Tadpole decided to sleep the night through. Well, he slept from 11 PM until 5 AM with just a brief awakening around 1 AM. However, the 1 AM does not count as we did not have to get up and feed him. He just needed to be adjusted and went right back to sleep. If this keeps up (boy am I optomistic!) we might move Tadpole into his nursery sooner rather than later ;-)
Now, for the actual feeding. He has been very interested in watching us eat for several weeks now so at his four month check up, the doctor suggested we try some rice cereal and see how he does. My expectations were that it would be a dismal failure with lots of tongue thrust and general messiness and we'd try again in a week. Instead, he seemed to understand exactly how to swallow the food and we lost very little. Since we were successful in both the eating and the sleeping, we will of course be trying again tonight!
