Week eighteen is as far as I can go until tomorrow night's craft night. This was a better week in terms of me feeling good about the spreads. I always enjoy his measurements. Look at him grow! And standing "two feet tall" as well as "holding" his own bottle. Just wait until he does it for real. Ack!
He also (oops!) enjoyed the taste of icing on his fingers because I was too impatient to wait until it was all the way dry before taking this photo. Don't forget Father's Day. We didn't think about a photo tradition with mother/son. Luckily I remembered in time for father/son.
He is enjoying his yardstick moment. That won't last. We also had the official doctor's visit and measurements. They aren't too different from ours . . .
Snuggles with Daddy, a ride in our rainforest swing, and another book from our Dolly Parton's Imagination Library program. Life is good.

Oh what a sad week in photos. Week seventeen was hard. We did have the fun of photo shoot 2.0 for the bowl pictures. Luckily that offered some good shots. Because when you look at some of the others you just might wonder who I'm trying to fool with this Project Life bit . . .
No matter how bad they are though, I keep trying. And just look at that face. Luckily he is inspiring . . .
He really started playing with his pacifier this week. We don't force it on him to keep him quiet. In fact, he really only uses it right after a bottle or when he is so very sleepy he just needs something to soothe with.
And as you can see, we didn't have enough vertical photos to even fill out my week. Sigh. Oh well. And he has now outgrown his adorable rubber duckie pajamas. We still sing our song though.

On to week sixteen. He flies like Superman and we pretend he is heading off to the ball field . . .
He also gets to meet the two newest babies at church when we take them dinner. Although we only get pics with one of them.
The lower left one of him with daddy reading Goodnight Moon and him playing with fluffy bunny made the rounds at BEA when I sent the photo off to a friend who was there. Yay for HarperCollins keeping this classic in print (it goes in all of my baby gifts). Fluffy bunny gets told a bedtime story almost every night. Tadpole loves to tell him all about his day and/or tell him how mean his parents are. In fact, we are certain he told Fluffy Bunny one day at naptime that as soon as he got big enough they were going to run away together. He also became fascinated with the carrots in our garden. Sure hope he has his Daddy's green thumb!
And seriously? Fabric/crinkly books? I had no clue what the appeal was. I'm still not sure of it, however he really enjoys "reading" (aka as playing with or eating) them. That's my boy. Books in any shape or form!

We also tried the swing trick for calming down a fussy baby. He isn't so much into the swinging thing. What a disappointment. However, he does like to hang out with his girls and have his photo taken! He also enjoys hanging out with cousins, especially when they are willing to feed him. We are going to have fun with cousin L defintely. L can't wait to introduce him to fishing and hunting and all things dirty and boy.
In fact, fishing occurred that very day. Tadpole wasn't too impressed yet. He will be. He also got to wear his Star Wars onesie. We are brainwashing him early! (I just wish he'd fit into it back on Star Wars day . . .)

Since I was able to get week thirteen posted, I can now catch up with other weeks that were completed already. Grandpa came out to visit and we also got our next Dolly Parton's Imagination Library book.
Tadpole showed off his "J. D. Ward fit" mode when a bottle was not ready quite in time. He also rolled over unexpectedly. I think he startled himself more than us. We are now singing "roll over, roll over" at every opportunity.
In addition to the builtins Grandpa put in his nursery, Grandpa also built us the kitchen island. Prior to putting the countertop on, we jokingly put Tadpole down in the drawer. Made me think of the scene in the movie Another Thin Man where the baby is sleeping in the dresser drawer.

We finally got the photos from Tadpole's Three Month Shoot so I was able to finish his week thirteen spread.
He looks so small up in that first photo however he still loves to sleep in that position. So precious! The bottom two are from our photo shoot, while the top right is me snapping a photo of his cousin taking pictures of him. Several of these photos were inspired from ones I'd pinned. The only one of them which actually did turn out as expected was the one with our rings on his feet. I do want to try the up in Daddy's arms again. We just need to find the right time and location. How is it we are so busy?
We absolutely love the bottom right photo. It showcases all of his mischievious personality. We put it up on the wall on a 10 by 10 canvas in our bedroom and it makes me smile every time I see it.

Our monthly photos are becoming a bit of a challenge with the Tadpole graduating to Frog status. He sure is a wiggle worm to mix some metaphors . . . luckily now that he can "stand" we can take pictures a different way. Trying the old way we had this
I did manage to get a photo while he was sleeping that looked like this
however we're going to try this going forward
at least until we can build something more permanent.
Photo 1 taken morning of his seven month birthday. Photo 2 taken evening of his seven month birthday. Photo 3 taken at seven months and one day . . . onesie from Unshelved :-)

So we suffered through our first illness this weekend. And when I say illness, I'm talking runny nose with a slight fever. Nothing earth shattering. However, ick! Runny noses are just a bit disgusting and you would have thought we were torturing him every time we wiped his nose. Either that or stealing something precious of which he had worked hard to create. Anyway, by the end of yesterday, his poor nose looked like
Prior to that though, one new adventure Tadpole had involved his new Mickey Mouse bathing suit . . .
I think we might just have a water baby on our hands :-)
Please ignore the sound of my voice in the below. I really don't like talking baby talk to my son. Sometimes it just happens though.

So here I am trying to post three favorite photos from last week in a more timely fashion. I'm tired, the boy is teething, and his Daddy is cleaning up the kitchen because I'm the luckiest girl alive . . .
What do you do when you have an hour long car ride and your boy is overtired? Distract him with a toy, aka Mommy's Pandora bracelet. Whatever it takes . . . whatever!
Pictures of my two boys napping always melt my heart :-)
Sneaky boy here found his cousin's water bottle and promptly put it to use.
I'm off to help clean up the kitchen. Crossing our fingers Tadpole sleeps through the night tonight and/or that pesky tooth finally makes it through so he can get some relief!
